Today, 20th of December 2010 in the premises of Bulyard Shipbuilding Industry EAD the keel laying ceremony of NB 102, owned by a subsidiary of Industrial Holding Bulgaria, took place. The ship is 55 427 tones bulk carrier and she is the third one built at Bulyard of Future-56 series. The construction license for ships Future-56, type Supramax is purchased from the Japanese company IHI Marine United Inc. and at its realization at Bulyard new design and production technologies are implemented. The main part of the equipment is produced and supplied by Mitsubishi Corporation. The main characteristics of the ships of this type are functionality in maintenance and service. Two ships of the same project are now being built at Bulyard, which are at an advanced stage of construction for the Turkish company shipowner Diler Shipping & Trading Inc.
As per the old nautical tradition, the executive director of Bulyard, Mr. Boyan Boykov, gave the shipowner a golden coin for the keel laying as a symbol of good luck and flawless work within the shipbuilding process. The event was also attended by representatives of the classification society Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, who handed over an attestation to confirm the Keel Laying.
